Maintenance Technician

At Northwell Health, we are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a Maintenance Technician, you will perform a variety of skilled and semiskilled work in several crafts, including carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain furniture, office equipment, door closers, hinges, faucets, drains, and doors in our maintenance shop and on location.
  • Lay out and install new shelves, soap dishes, paper towel holders, coat hooks, cork strips, and other fixtures.
  • Construct or reconstruct specific pieces of equipment, stands, and attachments; anchor objects to masonry, walls, and other surfaces.
  • Demolish walls, ceilings, and clean up areas as needed; perform a variety of small or occasional "handyman" jobs.
  • Observe, initiate, and perform constructions and repairs to preserve and avoid loss of property.
  • Coordinate and cooperate with other trades to increase efficiency and avoid duplication of effort.
  • Assist the Grounds Shop with salting, sanding, and removal of snow.
  • Assist the maintenance shop in creating procedures for well-organized and expedient responses to various emergencies.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations and support leadership in resolution process.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years of technical experience required.
  • Carpentry experience preferred.
  • Commercial experience preferred.
  • Valid NY State Driver's License preferred.
