Job Summary/Basic Functions

The Clinical Mental Health Professional will serve to provide an array of holistic diversified mental health services to promote healthy lifestyles and overall mental wellness of enrolled Virginia State University students. The University Counseling Center provides guidance and support for the academic faculty, administrators, and staff in recognizing and referring troubled students to a centralized helping unit. To integrate four core program services into a unified counseling unit providing individual intake services to community co-curricular services.

Minimum Qualifications

Extensive knowledge of community resources, advanced counseling, assessment, and communication skills, ability to coordinate programs, conduct program evaluation, and work within a holistic service delivery system.

Demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations that govern behavioral health is required.

Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling is required. Licensure is required. Must have a minimum of two years of clinical mental health counseling experience.
