Job Responsibilities - you knew they were coming

  • Screen, evaluate and treat patients with quality care and compassion
  • Enhance communication, cognitive-linguistic abilities, and swallowing skills of patients
  • Create plans of care and routinely assess and revise as needed to ensure best patient outcomes
  • Complete tasks in accordance with state and federal regulations and professional guidelines
  • Provide education and instruction to patients and family members
  • Maintain open and ongoing communication with peers to ensure patient needs are met
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation of observations and evaluations

Skills and Qualifications - we know you have them

  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • Certification/licensure in the state of practice
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a speech therapist
  • Home health experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently
  • Time management skills
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record and reliable automobile
  • Proof of current automobile insurance
  • Criminal background check clearance/fingerprint clearance
  • Current CPR certification

Physical Requirements - to strengthen others

Requires some physical effort most of the day including kneeling, squatting, reaching, twisting, walking, and exposure to temperature and humidity changes. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use appropriate adaptive devices that will enable senses to function at a level required to meet essential duties of this position.

Mental Requirements - you went to school for this

Must be able to work independently, make judgments based on assessments and data available and act accordingly. Must be flexible, innovative and possess good interpersonal skills. Must be able to cope with mental and emotional stress and demonstrate emotional stability.

Working Environment - there will be snacks

Works indoors in agency office and patient homes/care facilities; travel to and from patients is required.
