SUMMARY:

A material handler maintains production and distribution of product by receiving and/or pulling product from inventory; Staging/loading finished goods for shipment.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Forklift Operation
  • Unload Rail Cars
  • Load/Unload Trucks
  • Yard Maintenance/Housekeeping as required
  • Compliance with all safety procedures and use of PPE
  • Inventory Control participation and compliance
  • Receive, Process, and Ship product safely, accurate and efficiently
  • Complete all job tasks in a timely fashion, prioritized to meet customer delivery expectations
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area
  • Additional duties as assigned
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist in scheduled cycle & spot counts as needed.
  • Assist in coaching new hires during the on-boarding process
  • Promote and demonstrate Sherwood Culture. (RESPECT)
  • Comply with all company attendance, PTO and HR policies
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Solid Communication Skills (both verbal & written)
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division and multiplication)
  • Basic computer skills (Preferred)
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work closely with peers on team orientated goals
  • Ability to follow company directives and instruction
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly
  • Ability to work outdoors during inclement weather conditions
  • Ability to bend, twist and stand for long periods of time
