Responsibilities:

  • Architectural Integrity: Responsible for end-to-end architectural integrity and understanding the latest architecture, technology, solutions, and industry trends.
  • Client-Facing Technical Resource: Serve as a key client-facing technical resource, focusing on systems rather than specific technologies, and conceptualize solutions addressing customer opportunities and issues.
  • Evaluate and Document Solutions: Evaluate business, information, application, and technology views of solutions, identify risks, and actively participate in reviewing end-to-end processes and preparing technical documents.
  • Enterprise Architecture Standards: Contribute to FDIC enterprise architecture standards and advocate standard project frameworks, methodologies, and procedures.
  • Translate Business Processes: Translate complex business processes and strategy into technical solutions, consulting with leaders to identify business opportunities, outline potential value and ROI, and document strategic vision.
  • Architectural Advice and Guidance: Provide architectural advice, planning guidance, quality assurance, and guidance to the project team, compile intellectual property for best practices, and be responsible for the overall solution architecture and design.
  • Ongoing Technical Leadership: Ensure delivery of architectural design, strategies, and plans on an ongoing basis, and manage and configure FDIC's enterprise architecture.
  • Promote Architecture Standards: Adhere to, enhance, and promote FDIC's enterprise architecture standards.
Requirements:
  • US Citizen with a BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent education/experience.
  • Proficiency in Python, PySpark, large-scale distributed programs, and cloud infrastructure management on platforms like AWS.
  • Experience in developing Python pipelines and packages using Flask and Streamlit.
  • Familiarity with NLP applications using TensorFlow and torch.
  • Understanding of containers, Microservices architecture patterns, and Big Data frameworks like Spark and Hadoop.
  • Over 5 years of experience as a Solution Architect and at least 5 years in other technical roles such as developer or systems analyst.
  • Prior Solution Architecture experience on projects of comparable size and scope, using Web 2.0 technologies, JavaEE on Oracle WebLogic, .NET, and relational databases including Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience using agile and iterative development practices.
  • Experience applying object-oriented programming and design approaches, and patterns-based design and development.
  • Experience applying Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) concepts including RESTful and SOAP-based services.
  • Experience designing in compliance with Enterprise Architecture tenets and enforcing security in JavaEE or .NET platforms, as well as data security in Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases, using identity management frameworks like SAML.
  • Strong consultative skills at a cross-functional level, experience with UML, activity diagrams, business use cases, business rules, system-level features, and enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF preferred).
  • Broad platform and technical exposure, complete software development lifecycle perspective, strong presentation and communication skills, and strong project and team management skills.
Soft Skills:
  • Deep understanding of probability and statistics, especially as it relates to experiment analysis.
  • Understanding of text representation techniques, algorithms, and statistics.
  • Machine Translation and Compilers experience.
  • Knowledge of machine learning frameworks and libraries.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with MLOps, DevOps culture and toolchains
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis procedures leveraging Pandas, SciPy
  • Familiarity with distributed stream processing frameworks like Kafka, Flink
  • Multi-modal skillset around data warehousing, reporting and visualization
