JOB PURPOSE: The IT EPIC Analyst Supervisor provides supervision to epic analyst staff to enable a customer focused, service-oriented team providing high quality services to the end users. The Supervisor manages and controls the workload by assigning and scheduling work, making sure the customer Service Level Agreements are met as well as the assigned projects are completed on schedule by the team. The IT EPIC Analyst Supervisor also collaborates with other department leaders to help define best practice solutions and enable operational efficiency and best practice adoption.

The primary goal of the El Rio Health IT EPIC Analyst Supervisor is to support El Rio's Mission of providing comprehensive, quality health care that is affordable and accessible to all who may have healthcare needs, by successfully performing the primary essential functions.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Plans, coordinates, and leads the collaboration between operational stakeholders, across major initiatives and projects ensuring that information relating to project deliverables, risks and issues are effectively communicated between stakeholders and that key performance indicators are monitored and evaluated.
  • Identifies and defines major strategic issues, workflow concerns and helps analyze, document, and develops a roadmap towards solutions.
  • Responsible for talent management of the analyst staff through employee development and mentoring, and performance management.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, proves personal growth opportunities to staff.
  • Controls expenses by gathering and submitting budget information, scheduling expenditures, monitoring variances, and implementing corrective actions.
  • Completes operations by:
      • Organizing workflow to accomplish established objectives.
      • Developing schedules
      • Delegating responsibility
      • Evaluating subordinates effectively
      • Implementing productivity standards
      • Resolving operations problems.
      • Maintaining reference manuals.
      • Administering necessary discipline.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment in compliance with all Policies and Procedures including but not limited to work areas, workstations, examination rooms, hand washing, infection prevention and control etc. for this position.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of and proficiency with the application of all compliance and reporting requirements respective to Joint Commission Certification (JCC) standards.
Minimum Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Three (3) years' supervisory experience, preferably in a healthcare or technology environment.
  • Seven (7) years' work experience as an EPIC Analyst managing multiple projects or programs.
  • Epic certification in relevant areas.
If applicable, equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered, and must be directly related to the functions and responsibilities of the job.

Required Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations:
  • Epic certification in relevant areas.
  • Level I fingerprint clearance card: current valid and in good standing or have applied for it within seven working days after beginning employment.
  • Employees in this position are required to have reliable transportation that can meet any operational reassignments of the organization during the workday. If an employee is driving during work hours, the employee is required to possess a valid driver's license and must be in compliance with Arizona vehicle insurance requirements.
Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities:
  • Epic certification in relevant areas.
  • Five (5) years' supervisory experience, preferably in a healthcare or technology environment.
  • Ten (10) years' work experience as an EPIC Analyst managing multiple projects or programs.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) with the ability to speak, read and write in both languages.
