The Role

The Designer prepares and revises engineering designs, drawings, diagrams, and bills of materials in collaboration with design engineers and project managers.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes mechanical engineering sketches, specifications, and related data and drawings to verify conformance with customer, company specifications and quality requirements.
  • Prepares and reviews mechanical design for predictability and cost considerations.
  • Prepares new or revises existing mechanical documents as necessary.
  • Participates in process improvement projects and tools.
  • Trains new designers
  • Selects materials for components and assemblies.
  • Create database for new part and bill of material.
  • Checks and defines fit, form, and function of each part.
  • Performs mechanical design calculations as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Must have knowledge of machine and shop background.
  • Must have strong knowledge in CAD(AutoCAD, SolidWorks preferred)
  • Preferred ability to design with spreadsheets and have knowledge of ANSI Specifications and materials process.
  • Familiar with mechanical design or industrial design.

Salary range: $28/hour - $30/hour, depending on experience.
