Our client, a law firm in Poughkeepsie is seeking a Litigation Paralegal/Legal Assistant who takes initiative and is a quick learner. Will handle primarily litigation work in a growing law practice. Professionalism, good writing and ability to multi-task are a must. Required to be extremely organized and detail-oriented.

Qualifications/ Required and/or Preferred Skills:

- Good interaction with clients, attorneys, clerks, and court.

- Drafting legal documents including pleadings, discovery demands, orders and motions.

- Filing documents in court and electronically.

- Preparing files for court appearances, depositions and trials.

- Drafting correspondence and emails.

- Answering phones, copying, filing and mail handling.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite (Mail, Drive, Docs and Calendar) required.

- Ability to learn and effectively apply new software as required.

- A minimum of 2 years experience in litigation required.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD ALSO HAVE RESIDENTIAL REAL ESTATE EXPERIENCE AND BE ABLE TO INDEPENDENTLY HANDLE A REAL ESTATE TRANSACTION FROM INCEPTION THROUGH CLOSING
