Clinical Laboratory Technologist

Work schedule: 24 hours per week for benefits eligibility, PRN not eligible for benefits. This is not a sponsored position, and involves a flexible schedule.

The Clinical Laboratory Technologist (CLT) is responsible for conducting and evaluating test procedures and assisting in the selection and assessment of test methods. Additionally, the CLT participates in the professional development of laboratory personnel, new employees, and may perform routine administrative and non-routine technical functions.

Requirements

  • Current licensure or certification as a Medical Technologist
  • Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred
  • Minimum one year of lab work, including hospital training, and one year of phlebotomy
  • Machines, Equipment Used: General office equipment, computer

Physical Requirements

  • Good visual acuity and communication skills
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and withstand prolonged standing and walking

Skills and Abilities

  • Effective communication and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently without supervision

Environmental Conditions

  • Indoor, temperature controlled, smoke-free environment
  • Potential exposure to blood borne pathogens, infectious disease, and environmental hazards

Proficiency or Productivity Standards

  • Meets established attendance standards and adheres to hospital/department dress code
  • May be required to work weekdays, weekends, evenings, and/or night shifts as needed
