The Diagnostic Imaging Director is a professional responsible for planning, directing, organizing, and maintaining all areas of Radiology (Nuclear Medicine; MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Mammography, PET Scan, Radiology, PACS, and Special Procedures). The Director is responsible for staffing, competencies, licensure, and evaluation of employees as well as maintenance of departmental facilities, supplies, equipment, and material in a manner to promote health, comfort, and efficiency. The Director assists the Radiologists with reports. The Director manages areas of responsibility and adheres to the rules and regulations of state and federal government and JCAHO. The Director is responsible for development, interpretation, application and implementation of departmental policies, budget and strategic plans.

BASIC KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Education / License / Certification:

  • Associate Degree from an approved school of Radiology, bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Currently registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologist in good standing
Experience / Skills:
  • Five (5) years’ experience (minimum) as Radiological Technologist
  • Two (2) years as assistant director of Imaging department
  • Previous experience as an Imaging Department Director preferred
  • Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures
  • Attention to detail and concentration
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, ever-changing environment
