At Phoenix Job Corps, the counselor's role is to guide enrolled students towards successfully completing their chosen program and securing employment in their field of study. They must document student absences to ensure daily accountability is maintained. Each counselor is responsible for managing a caseload of 30 to 60 students. It is their duty to identify and address any obstacles that may prevent students from completing the program and guide them towards the appropriate resources available on the center.. Responsibilities: Individual Counseling: Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with students to understand their unique needs, challenges, and goals. Foster a safe and supportive environment for open and honest communication. Offer compassionate guidance to help individuals navigate personal and professional obstacles. Group Facilitation: Lead group counseling sessions to create a sense of community and mutual support among students. Develop and implement workshops that address common issues and enhance students personal and professional development. Goal Setting and Planning: Collaborate with students to set realistic and achievable short-term and long-term goals. Assist in creating personalized action plans, guiding the steps needed to reach their objectives. Resource Navigation: Connect students with relevant resources within Job Crops and the broader community to address specific needs and challenges.
