Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiology Clinic team. As an RN in our cardiology practice, you will play a vital role in supporting patients through the diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions, providing education, administering medications, and collaborating with physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will have experience in cardiology or a strong interest in cardiac care, along with excellent communication skills and a passion for patient advocacy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care & Assessment:

    • Conduct initial patient assessments, including health history, vital signs, and physical examinations as directed by the physician.
    • Monitor and assess patients with cardiac conditions and report any changes in condition to the physician.
    • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including intravenous medications and injections, and perform necessary patient procedures such as EKGs and blood draws.
  • Clinical Support:

  • Assist physicians during examinations, diagnostic testing, and medical procedures.

  • Prepare patients for cardiology-specific diagnostic tests such as stress tests, echocardiograms, and Holter monitors.

  • Assist in the preparation and education of patients undergoing cardiac surgeries or procedures.

  • Patient Education & Advocacy:

  • Educate patients and families about heart disease prevention, medication management, lifestyle modifications, and post-procedure care.

  • Provide emotional support and ensure a compassionate environment for patients dealing with complex medical conditions.

  • Serve as a resource for patients regarding cardiology treatments, procedures, and follow-up care.

  • Collaboration & Communication:

  • Collaborate with cardiologists, technicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care for all patients.

  • Document patient information accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare team members regarding care plans and treatment progress.

  • Administrative & Organizational Support:

  • Assist in scheduling patient appointments, follow-up visits, and diagnostic testing.

  • Ensure medical supplies and equipment are stocked and maintained.

  • Comply with all healthcare regulations and maintain a clean, safe clinical environment.

Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
  • Licensure:
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as an RN; previous experience in cardiology or related specialties preferred.
  • Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and interact with patients and their families.
  • Proficient in the use of electronic health records (EHR) and basic office technology.
  • Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to perform manual tasks, including taking vital signs and performing assessments.
