Are you detail-oriented and passionate about healthcare? A client of ours is seeking a Clinical Credentialing Specialist to ensure clinical staff meet all necessary qualifications and regulatory standards.
What You'll Do:
  • Verify Credentials: Check the qualifications, licensure, certifications, and work history of doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.
  • Primary Source Verification: Confirm credentials directly with educational institutions, licensing boards, and certification agencies.
  • Process Applications: Handle credentialing for new hires and re-credentialing for existing staff, ensuring all paperwork is complete.
  • Manage Compliance: Ensure all clinical staff meet standards set by regulatory bodies like The Joint Commission, NCQA, CMS, and more.
  • Maintain Records: Keep detailed records of credentialing information, including license expiration dates and certification renewals.
  • Implement Policies: Develop and implement credentialing policies in line with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate Between Departments: Work closely with HR, medical staff offices, and clinical departments to streamline the credentialing process.
  • Prepare for Audits: Ensure all credential files are complete and up to date for internal and external audits.
  • Communicate Effectively: Act as a liaison between clinical staff, healthcare organizations, and regulatory bodies to address credentialing issues or inquiries.
What You Need:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of credentialing experience
  • Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) strongly preferred
