The Property Accountant is Responsible for a portfolio of properties, including the monthly preparation of financial statements, income statements, variance analyses, property/tenant statistics, and general ledger reconciliations.

PROPERTY MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED

Responsibilities:
  • Full accounting responsibility for an assigned group of properties-including monthly and annual closings, recording of amortization and depreciation, accrual adjustments, and month-end journal entries.
  • This role will also prepare annual budgets for properties and respond to any questions from in-house asset managers and outside auditors.
  • The Property Accountant will also work with Property Managers, responding to inquiries and questions regarding the assigned properties in the portfolio.
  • Monitor property cash flow, reconcile bank accounts, and coordinate with accounts payable.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Multi-family property accounting experience required.
Requirements
  • Property management software: 2 years (Required)
  • Multifamily Accounting: 1 year (Required)
  • 3+ years of relative experience
  • Team player
  • Strong technical accounting skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Property management software experience required
  • RealPage experience is a plus
