Primary Purpose:
The primary responsibility of a school counselor is to counsel and advocate for all students to fully develop their personal, social, academic, and career abilities. A school counselor works alongside school faculty/staff, students, parents, and community to plan, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive developmental guidance and counseling program at the assigned school.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:
Master's degree in guidance counseling
Valid Texas counseling certificate

Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge of school counseling procedures, self management and social skills, child and adolescent development, behavior management, and learning strategies.

Experience:
Minimum three years of creditable years of teaching experience

Salary: AP PG5/11 Months
Starting: $71,726
