Do you enjoy contributing to a Project’s lifecycle? As a Construction Planner you will leverage your multiple skillsets of project scheduling with the relationships between scheduling and construction.

From the assessment phase to a project’s closeout, your experience assisting a Construction Manager with the rhythm of a project’s progress, labor resource, risks, float and reporting will be a sound contribution to a project’s timely success.

As your schedules align with a project’s progress, the weekly preparation of internal, schedule reporting will assist with a management of a project and portfolio timeline. As your project progresses, you will affirm constraints, assess risks and report the change management in your schedules.

As a member of the Client site planning group, you will be involved with measuring the pulse of a project. Your role pulls from and partners with both Client colleagues and all the Subcontractors working on the project. This collaboration is often dynamic, fast-paced yet rewarding.

Job Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Assists Construction Manager with planning of a project’s key analytical tools – schedules, analysis, What if analysis, risk assessment and reporting.
  • Develop integrated schedules for projects and turnarounds.
  • Scheduling key activities, float management, milestones, timely updates, construction sequencing, analysis of risks coupled with a resolution, value add orientation.
  • Baseline, budgetary model setup and maintenance provides you with a timely basis to analyze a project’s current timeline and assess future performance.
  • Analytical modeling, graphing and reporting supports your proposed solutions to the team.
  • Assures the key projects analytical tools (Schedule / Cost model / Estimate) are assessed, reviewed, aligned, reconciled and evaluated to convey one message.
  • Preparation of baseline detail schedules, progress curves, milestone lists and resource profiles.
  • Partners / leads change management process, assessment and reporting | duration trends, risks / project float.
  • Perform site walks to validate physical progress is in alignment with schedule status.
  • Evaluate and report schedule deviations, critical paths and schedule constraints.
  • Lead interactive planning sessions in partnership with key disciplines / Vendors / Construction contractors.
  • Familiar with creating integrated / consolidated master schedules.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in scientific discipline preferred, with a minimum 8 years of project work experience.
  • Commissioning, Start-up and Shut-down, Turnaround experience
  • Progressive knowledge of project cost management principles and implementation.
  • Advanced, project financial forecast modeling | Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
  • Demonstrated Primavera (6+) modeling analytics
  • Established ability to process and comprehend project design/phase requirements, schedule impacts, client impacts, and to make recommendations about project requirements to ensure estimate, schedule and cost metrics meet all the design criteria.
  • Demonstrated ability with the preparation of project and construction management reports pertaining to schedule baseline / budget, resource loading man-hours and risk assessments for assigned projects.
  • Excellent communication skills as there are frequent interactions with internal staff, vendors, contractors and clients.
  • Strong skills in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Suite.
  • Knowledge of current principles and workflow of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects.
Preferred Job Requirements:
  • Petrochemical, oil and gas experience including maintenance process and utility unit projects.

  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Overtime may be necessary as workload dictates. This may include weekdays, weekends and/or holidays.
  • Job duties will generally be performed at a Client’s office, client site, production facility or industrial/construction job site. Day to day job direction will typically be led by our Clients designated project leader.
  • Conditions and/or schedule will vary at each Client location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply.
  • Candidates will be required to follow our clients' site-based rules and protocols regarding infectious diseases.
