Position Summary:
MLU Services LLC is looking for a skilled and experienced Construction Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills. The Construction Specialist will be responsible for performing a variety of construction, repair, and maintenance tasks across different job sites. This role requires a hands-on approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. This is estimated to be a six month with the potential for a longer duration.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include:
  • Perform basic plumbing tasks including installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing systems.
  • Execute basic electrical work such as installing and maintaining wiring, lighting systems, outlets, and circuit breakers.
  • Carry out carpentry tasks including framing, installing drywall, and building or repairing structures such as doors, windows, and cabinetry.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensure work areas are kept organized and safe.
  • Travel to and work on project sites in the State of Iowa
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Complete all required training.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Know how to read a tape measure and use a level.
  • Independent thinker.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Work Location and Conditions:
  • State of Iowa
  • Lodging and per diem will be provided
  • Work is performed in various construction sites and may involve exposure to extreme temperatures, loud noises, and various environments.
  • Work is potentially up to 7 days a week and 12-hour days.


Required Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; vocational training or certifications in plumbing, electrical, or carpentry preferred.
  • Experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, flooring, and HVAC is preferred
