Reports to: IT Manager
Exempt or Non-Exempt: Exempt
Status: Full-Time
Typical Working Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
May be required to work extended hours including holidays and weekends due to the 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year type of service ESCO provides its clients.

Synopsis:
The IT Specialist II is a mid-level position within the IT department of ESCO Group. This position is responsible for the upkeep, configuration to ensure reliable operation of company computer systems, software, and help desk system. This position seeks to ensure that the uptime, performance, resources and security of the computers he or she manages meets the needs of the users without exceeding the budget.

Background and Work Experience:
To be considered, candidates should have:

  • Completion of a bachelor's degree program in information technology or related discipline from an accredited college, technical school, or university and one year or more of related work or industry experience; or
    • A combination of equivalent education and or experience will be considered with solid evidence of success.
  • Demonstrated to be highly proficient with computer technologies including but not limited to, Windows Operating Systems, and the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Preferred:
  • Knowledge of desktop/laptop use and configuration, troubleshooting, and management of inventory and asset tracking.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and management of risks.
Responsibilities and Duties:
The IT Specialist II will be responsible for, but not limited to:
  • Handle a wide range of user requests related to technology to limit downtime.
  • Perform regular systems and security monitoring, handling backup procedures and helping set up, maintain, and disable/delete user's accounts as required.
  • Develop and maintain relevant procedures and standards ensuring that hardware and systems work as expected and maintaining archives as needed.
  • Provide technical support related to all IT managed systems within our organization
  • Set up new or repurpose previously used computers including the installation of software, updates, drivers, etc.
  • Backup hard drives of previously used computers before repurposing or retiring. In the case of a computer being retired, the hard drive must be wiped of all confidential information.
  • Create "How-To" guides for users when it is determined that we have a common issue related to user lack of understanding on processes
  • Maintain the IT hardware and software inventory database.
  • Provide primary support of IT related software, including phone system, help desk, Active Directory, Office 365 products, office networking, access systems, etc.
  • Support IT projects with budgeting guidance and execution.
  • Utilize, support, and enhance ESCO's standards and best practices.
  • Understand and follow all safety, conduct, and policy requirements established by ESCO and clients.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or deemed necessary by management.

Travel Required:
This position does not generally require overnight travel. Some daily travel may be required to other office locations, training, and seminars.
