Summary:

Reporting to the Controller, the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst is responsible for supporting day-to-day treasury operations and analytical needs of the Funds’ $9 billion portfolio. This includes cash management, investment reconciliation, and preparing insightful reports for senior stakeholders. The Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst will work closely with the Director of Investments and the Accounting group to enable fact-based treasury decisions that optimize investment portfolio performance over the long-term.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily cash positioning, planning, and forecasting to align with investment fund liquidity requirements
  • Support the forecasting process and own portions of the financial forecast models and consolidation reports, including P&L, cash flow, balance sheet, and supporting schedules/analyses. Ensure their quality, timeliness, and accuracy
  • Support the cost-allocation and intercompany settlement processes
  • Gathers data on each Fund’s activity, and communicates with stakeholders to understand cash needs and annual expenses Support the creation of the annual and multi-year strategic and financial plans
  • Reconcile contribution funding payments and withdrawals to underlying investment activity
  • Prepare cash flow projections and investment analytics to provide recommendations
  • Develop and populate dashboards, reports to provide visibility into various pension investment activities
  • Work with ERP Analyst, Director of Investments, and Investment Analyst to identify a cash management tool
  • Performs any other relevant, related or pertinent work or duties as requested or assigned by management and senior leadership
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required
  • 2-6 years’ experience as a financial analyst or in cash/treasury management
  • Intermediate to advanced modeling skills
  • Experience with multi-year or annual forecasting
  • Proficient experience in financial statement review with a working knowledge of accounting, financial and treasury functions
  • Prior background and knowledge in banking and treasury, as well as ideas around how to automate processes and implement good controls
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, treasury/accounting systems
  • Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Pension or Health industry experience preferred
  • CFA, CTP or related finance certification a plus
