Basic Qualifications

Bachelors of Science degree or Technology degree, a related specialized area or field is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Experience with requirements definition/analysis and Agile preferred.

What You Should Have

  • Experience in Product Owner or Business Analyst role for embedded product development
  • Experience in Product Management or Systems Engineering
  • Experience working in an Agile Engineering work environment
  • Experience with full product development lifecycle (hardware and software)
  • Demonstrated success in project management, monitoring, follow-up and closure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with our internal teams and customers
  • Set team priorities, adhere to deadlines to meet goals, and adapt to schedule changes
  • Critical ability to prioritize own workload to maximize team support
  • Strong, general reasoning and analytical skills
  • High level of personal, work and professional ethics

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates must be able and willing to obtain Department of Defense Secret security clearance within a reasonable amount of time after date of hire. An active Secret clearance is highly desired. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

GPS Source, Inc.,  a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics Mission Systems (GDMS), is a world class innovator and manufacturer of high quality, high performance position, navigation and timing (PNT) technologies for demanding defense and commercial markets. Our tight knit product development team needs a Product Owner who is an expert in PNT technology to help design, deliver and support first-to-market PNT solutions. This position will be supporting our southeast Colorado Springs, Colorado location. 

We are looking for a Product Owner to join our Product Management team in Colorado Springs.

What You'll Do

  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes which includes writing new user stories, determining acceptance criteria for each user story
  • Develop release planning criteria
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum activities
  • Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact
  • Articulate requirements and business value to engineering teams and deliver with speedy time-to-market and optimal resources
  • Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding
  • Align product management with overall company strategy
  • Coordinate with other Product Owners to execute the Product Realization Process
  • Determine return on investment (ROI) for new proposed features
  • Communicate to stakeholders to obtain feedback
  • Work with Product Management and Business Development for go-to-market activities

Nice to Have

  • Experience with GPS and/or position, navigation and timing (PNT) applications
  • Product Ownership
  • Experience with design tools such as Balsamiq, InVision or Adobe Photoshop
  • Degree in Engineering
  • Competency in product owner tools and basic office programs (Jira, Confluence, MS Project, Share Point, MS Office)
  • Quality assurance experience
  • Ability to successfully work under tight project deadlines
  • Experience with process improvement, and better development practices

Note: The compensation information listed is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation.

If performed in Colorado, this position has a salary range of USD $73,260.00/Yr. - USD $105,000.00/Yr.
