Job Summary and Qualifications
The Tech - Vascular performs quality non-invasive vascular ultrasound examinations using protocols determined by the Medical Director of the vascular lab and exhibits a exemplary customer service to all patients, family, physician, and hospital staff members.
What you will do in this role:
- Maintains departmental compliance logs.
- Participates in performance improvement processes.
- Obtains quality diagnostic images according to protocol
- Exam orders: ensures all orders have the required 5 elements
- PACS: Scans in and labels documents appropriately, resolve QA issues in a timely manner, ensure images are released to radiologists in a timely manner.
- RIS: ensures orders are valid and entered appropriately, ensures ordering physician is correct, completes exams with accurate information, documents pertinent information.
- Participates in departmental accreditation processes and QA.
- Transports patients as necessary.
- Prepares and disperses preliminary reports as indicated by vascular lab protocol
What qualifications you will need:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Vocational School Graduate
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, or Registered Vascular Technician (RVT)
- B.S. Degree in appropriate discipline preferred.
- Prefer two years working in an acute care hospital setting performing non-invasive vascular ultrasound procedures.
