A Plus Tree is looking for an Urban Forest Sales Manager for the day-to-day Sales in the Greater Portland Metro Area.

As a professional sales leader or Urban Forest Manager (UFM), you will partner with the Treecology/A Plus Tree Oregon Sales team to lead sales, with a large emphasis on residential sales. You will lead select strategic geography to establish the core building blocks to enable long-term profitable growth through all sales cycles.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Foster and build trusted relationships with new and existing clients, the company, and the community.
  • Drive results and be comfortable meeting deadlines and sales objectives.
  • Attend community-based tree care events and peer networking to build company/brand identity as well as trade shows and lunch and learns.
  • Follow-up by phone, email and in-person with clients on proposals, current jobs & account management activities.
  • Enter new clients, properties and build proposals and job plans into proprietary sales system.
  • Partner with the Oregon Urban Forest sales team in preparing proposals & sending estimates.
  • Prepare permit information & arborist reports as needed.
  • Obtain permits on approved proposals.
  • Identify local tree species and recommend treatment.
  • Educate and consult with clients on tree care & tree removals.
  • Educate and consult with clients on plant health care and general tree care.
  • Inventory, identify, assess and catalog trees.
  • Administrative duties including the use of Salesforce CRM and A Plus Tree's proprietary software
  • Salesforce knowledge and experience preferred.
  • GIS or like inventory software knowledge preferred.
  • Receive incoming calls from clients and potential clients.
  • Weekly 1:1's with supervisor.
  • Weekly and monthly sales meetings/calls.
  • Schedule certified arborist (if/when applicable) for job walks, arborist reports, 811's and no parking.
  • Collaborate with operations and the client success teams to execute successful tree work projects.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
What we are looking for:
  • Education and/or experience in Arboriculture, Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Science, Plant Pathology, Environment Sciences, Biological Sciences, or equivalent preferred.
  • Proven track record in developing relationships focusing on superior client service, & establishing, maintaining, and growing a sales territory.
  • 2+ years of relevant Sales experience preferred.
  • ISA Certified Arborist credential holder, or ability to obtain the credential within 6 months.
  • Willingness to learn new aspects of Arboriculture.
  • Operational experience with tree care is a requirement.
  • Ability to accurately diagnose and price various tree care treatments.
  • Ability to prepare and present proposals, either one-on-one or with small groups.
  • Desired experience managing large or complex accounts, such as municipal or condo associations, with multiple decision-makers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong listening skills, and the ability to take high-quality notes from client conversations.
  • Proficient and proven selling and negation skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • A valid driver's license & clean driving record, meeting all Company requirements for driving.
  • Must be 21 years or older.

We offer minimum guarantees and uncapped potential in commission earnings Total compensation can range from $65,000 to $135,000.
