Water Resources Engineer

Description: A top multidisciplinary firm of design professionals is currently seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join their team in Chantilly, VA. This candidate will work on exciting sustainable/LEED projects, ranging from once-in-a-lifetime mixed-use projects of enormous scale to smaller-scale projects that provide an excellent opportunity for engineers to develop as professionals. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Design a variety of facilities, such as bioretention's, green roofs, permeable pavements, stormwater ponds, manufactured treatment devices, and underground detention facilities. Additionally, candidates will have the opportunity to prepare watershed studies, floodplain studies, and evaluate state-regulated impoundment structures for compliance with state regulations. Working on a variety of water resources projects, and will also have an opportunity to gain general civil/land development experience. Develop hydrologic and hydraulic models using GIS data, topographic data, and as-built information. Manage multiple projects and deadlines. Act as a technical mentor to entry-level engineers. Top Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related 2-5+ years of HEC-RAS modeling experience Experience in drainage design, erosion and sediment control design, roadway drainage design, and culvert hydraulic analysis Proficiency with AutoCAD / Civil 3D EIT Certification or PE License is preferred Benefits: Competitive Salary 401k Plan Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance Continuing Education Incentives PTO and Holidays About Actalent Actalent is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions.
