Job Description

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED

5+ years relevant experience in Assembly of Rotating Equipment Manufacturing,

Preference given to applicants with specific expert knowledge of Client Turbomachinery rotating equipment assembly (particularly SGT 100-400 and A-35/A-65 Client Gas Turbine and compressor packaging, RF and Datum range of turbo-compressors) including development and interpretation of technical assembly instructions, build methods and sequencing of core compressor internals and auxiliaries.

This position requires employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless they are granted a medical or religious accommodation.

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Assembly Specialist Responsibilities:

Work and communicate with Engineering, Quality Control, Material Control, and other crafts in production.

Maintain and obey all EHS standards.

Layout mechanical tubing and use all appropriate tools.

Inspect, repair, replace, install, and maintain all mechanical and electrical components, assemblies, on turbines and associated packages.

Perform work following all safety procedures and policies.

Operate tubing benders to make required lines for oil, gas, and fuel systems in the turbine packages.

Work with different kinds and grades of pipes, tubing, and structural material for the assembly of turbine package.

Review, Interpret complex Assembly instructions, specs, schematics and blueprints.

Read P&ID drawings.

Inventory, clean and visually inspect all components and stage all equipment needed for assembly and safely offload incoming parts off transport using proper lifting/ rigging equipment and technical questions.

Perform fitting of structural components using tools and required methods for the assembly of SGT 100-400 and A-35/A-65 Client Gas Turbine and compressor packaging.

Assist fitters and electricians in assembly and testing of turbines and associated equipment.

Perform or assist in the full load testing of gas turbines.

Knowledgeable in the workings of turbines and its controls and associated equipment.

Preform measurements and adjustments as necessary for correct tolerances, record measurements for review.

Notify management/engineering of issues and deviations from print and regularly carry out and document simple maintenance and cleaning work according to the specifications or maintenance plan. Carry out minor repair within the scope of the available expertise.

Work with management/engineering to refine assembly best practices and Train less experienced Assembly Technician.

Use micrometer and indicators to measure tolerances to +/-0.001 , hand tools, air grinders and overhead lifting devices

Make part adjustments using various machining techniques

Assist and cross train for test and packaging departments as needed

Maintain a clean orderly work area.

Perform all assigned duties as necessary.

Enforce and practice all company work instructions and any quality control system programs that are implemented by the company.
