Fast-paced, automotive manufacturer is seeking a Quality Systems Engineer to join their quality engineering team. As the Quality Systems Engineer, you will report to the Quality Manager and will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Ownership and responsibility of the IATF 16949 quality system while supporting the ISO 14001 system
  • Manage the internal audit program and support layered process audits
  • Facilitate and host customer and 3rd party audits
  • Ensure business systems documents are accurate, adequate, and up to date
  • Lead root cause analysis for quality issues related to the quality systems, implementing corrective actions as needed
  • Oversee internal deviation processes and document control, including recording activities
  • Assist maintenance and EHS teams with compliance and document management for ISO 14001
  • Develop and deliver training to team members on quality systems
  • Update work instructions as necessary
  • Support change management and lead strategic initiatives related to quality systems
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management


Candidates should be able to communicate at all levels and have exceptional organizational skills. The qualified individual will be self-motivated, able to take ownership of projects, be able to work independently and within a team, enjoy floor presence when needed (up to 15% of their day) and be able to meet deadlines. Bachelor's degree in a technical field OR relevant/related work experience in lieu of a degree 2. 3. Experience supporting quality systems in a manufacturing environment, ideally an automotive supplier

4. Experience as a manager or a contributor responsible for IATF 16949 or ISO 9001 quality systems

5. Formal problem-solving and root cause analysis experience 6. Working knowledge of critical characteristics related to automotive manufacturing

7. Microsoft Office

Skills preferred but NOT required:1. IATF Lead Auditor Certification in IATF, ISO or VDA
