Account Manager

Territory: Long Island/Suffolk County

Yarde Metals, Inc. is looking for an Account Manager to maintain and grow market share in Long Island/Suffolk County.

An Account Manager develops new business and retains existing business within an established region which requires a high volume both face-to-face interactions, as well as direct office work strategically building relationships and evaluating and identifying opportunities for profitable growth.

  • Providing customers with quality products and services the first, on-time, every time.
  • Maintaining a proven reputation of being a world-class metals service center within the industry.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop an account retention and sales growth plan.
  • Build strong, value-added business partnerships with customers.
  • Identify customer requirements and present products, services, and programs to meet their needs.
  • Secure contractual opportunities and increase sales through collaboration with product managers and inside sales associates.
  • Regularly follow up and monitor customer satisfaction on the quality of products, services, and delivery performance.
  • Prepare itineraries, call logs, expense reports and update customer account information.
  • Assist the credit department with accounts receivable and collections activities.
  • Consult with marketing on promotional initiatives.
  • Represent the company in a positive and professional manner in all business and social settings.
  • Continually develop sales skills and acquire knowledge on new products, services, equipment, industry intel, and business trends.
  • Attend association meetings and trade show events to promote products and services through networking.
  • Selectively entertain customers and administer budget proportionally based on account status, sales volume, profit, and overall sales potential.
Requirements:
  • Highschool graduate. College degree preferred.
  • Proven success in a sales position and experience directly related to the duties of the position.
  • Strong command of the English language and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop long-lasting business partnerships.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills.
  • Able to represent self and company in a professional manner.
  • Valid driver's license with clean MVR; must operate a company vehicle 50% of the time and do so safely in various weather and traffic conditions.
  • Available to work extended hours and weekends to entertain customers.
