Provides office support services consistent with the philosophy and needs of the college health services. Reports to the Director of Health.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain confidentiality of all health-related information in the department.
- Serve as main telephone contact for the department; provide information as needed.
- Process and maintain all health records and department files using PyraMED, an electronic health record.
- Process and maintain all student immunization files as required by state law and university policies.
- Prepare and type correspondence, forms, spreadsheets, and charts for the department.
- Handle all mailings; distribute mail.
- Track and monitor expenditures and reconcile departmental budget monthly.
- Maintain supply inventory, prepare purchase order requests, and check requisitions.
- Process and maintain accurate files for all campus accident reports.
- Integrate the core values of respect, compassion, integrity, justice, and service in all aspects of interaction.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain timesheets and correspondence for student workers, if indicated
- High school diploma, some college preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality as required by HIPAA and FERPA
- Demonstrated office and secretarial skills, such as phones, correspondence, mailings, scheduling, filing, use of office machines, etc.
- Experience with electronic health record system preferred.
- Successful experience in a support position requiring excellent organizational skills, attention-to-detail, accuracy, and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in a medical setting preferred.
- Strong computer skills, including MS office (Word and Excel required) and e-mail; experience in database applications preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Flexibility to adjust work schedule as needed.
