*Are you a self-starter with a Pharmacy Technician license that enjoys research and customer service? The State of Utah Department of Commerce is looking for an experienced professional to fill the Pharmacy Licensing Program Specialist vacancy within the Division of Professional Licensing (DOPL). * *This position will be in the office for training,and then may be able to telework up to two days per week (if eligibility requirements are met). PRINCIPAL DUTIES In this position you will be responsible for reviewing pharmacy applications and issuing pharmacy licenses. This will include working with investigators and inspectors throughout the process and researching State laws and rules and Federal Regulations. You will act as an expert for various professions,most importantly pharmacy. Duties include,but are not limited to: Handling complex licensing applications and questions from current and potential license holders. May act as team lead. Researching pharmacy or other related professions for the Division,Bureau Manager and other management. Interpreting,clarifying,explaining and applying agency policy and procedures,business practices,federal or state laws and regulations,etc. Analyzing,summarizing and/or reviewing data. Reporting findings,interpreting results and/or making recommendation. Developing and implementing procedures in response to agency policy,state and federal laws,etc. Facilitating the use of research data to improve existing programs and utilization of resources. Providing outreach to stakeholders. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE Our model candidate will have: Past pharmacy industry experience,including experience with sterile and non-sterile compounding (795,797 and 800 guidelines). Exceptional communication skills. Ability to research and respond to detailed customer inquiries. Excellent analytical thinking and problem solving skills. Developed technical writing skills. The ability to deliver presentations or training using acceptable methods and techniques. PREFERENCES Preference will be given to applicants who have: A State of Utah Pharmacy Technician License. Employees hired on or after 7/1/2011 and who have never been in the URS retirement system have two options for retirement in the Tier II System. Tier 2 Hybrid Retirement System. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary between both plans (pension and 401(k)) ier 2 Defined Contribution Plan. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary to a 401(k) plan only. Employer contributions to your 401(k) are vested after four years. Paid Time Off: Annual leave and sick leave are accrued at 4 hours per pay period each (4 hours annual,4 hours sick). Annual leave amounts increase with years of service. We have 12 paid holidays.
