We are in search of a reliable Pharmacy Assistant who will manage and fulfill medication orders. Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in compliance with state and federal regulations, you will engage in various technical tasks within the pharmacy. These tasks may include measuring, counting, labeling, maintaining records, and communicating effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. Your role is crucial in ensuring customer satisfaction by providing prompt, professional, and friendly service.
We offer a highly competitive salary based on experience, with no evening, Sunday, or holiday shifts, and some flexibility in scheduling. Additional benefits include a 401k plan with company matching, employee discounts, and comprehensive Medical/Dental/Vision benefits for full-time positions.
While prior experience as a Pharmacy Assistant is advantageous, it is not mandatory as we provide training.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including register operations, security protocols, and confidentiality standards.
- Welcome customers and address their inquiries.
- Receive and verify the authenticity of prescriptions.
- Process prescriptions electronically, ensuring all details are complete and accurate.
- Resolve issues as they arise, such as rejected insurance claims.
- Select appropriate medications and accurately measure dosages for prescriptions.
- Organize, stock, label medications, and oversee inventory management.
- Perform administrative tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all security measures and quality standards.
- Execute additional duties as required.
Essential Skills
- Experience as a pharmacy assistant is a plus.
- Familiarity with online prescription systems is beneficial.
- Knowledge of medication and dosage measurement is advantageous.
- Exceptional communication and customer service abilities.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Dependable with a meticulous approach to tasks.
Pharmacy assistants must be nationally certified and registered with the appropriate state board of pharmacy. Individuals not currently registered must obtain the necessary registration prior to beginning employment.
