The Store Management & Sales Training Program at Sherwin-Williams is designed to fast-track entry-level employees for a Store Management role in 18-24 months. Upon successful completion of the 8-week training, individuals will have the opportunity to advance to an Assistant Store Manager position.

This full-time position requires 44 hours per week, including evenings and/or weekends.

Throughout the program, participants will collaborate with store management to oversee a million-dollar business, develop leadership skills, and contribute to the store's success by increasing market share through sales to large commercial users of high-quality products. Graduates of the program can expect limitless career opportunities, leadership development, and professional networking, providing a solid foundation for a successful career in management and professional sales.

Job Duties:

  • Complete structured training program
  • Implement business strategies to elevate sales and profitability
  • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and service
  • Maintain in-depth product knowledge to make effective customer recommendations
  • Build strong relationships with wholesale and retail customers
  • Handle store administration and uphold compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Maintain optimal store condition and visual merchandising standards
  • Support employee training, development, and performance management
  • Address and resolve customer and employee complaints
  • Collaborate with Store Manager on outside sales calls to expand market share

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
  • Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver's License
  • Must have at least a bachelor's degree by the start of this development program
  • Must be able to retrieve and lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. occasionally
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least one (1) year experience in retail, sales, or customer service
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a leadership role or leading teams
  • Previous sales experience in paint and paint-related products
  • Experience using timekeeping and/or customer relationship management systems
  • Willingness to relocate for future job opportunities
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish
