Lead Mechanical Design Engineer

Your Role:

As part of the global hardware team, the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer will oversee design and engineering projects to develop innovative solutions for both existing and new product development.

What you'll be doing:
  • Designing new parts and assemblies using CAD, generating CAD models, assemblies, and drawings from engineering requirements
  • Leading processing change orders to release or modify existing mechanical models and drawings and bills of materials
  • Applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials and confirming correctness using engineering methodologies and tools such as FEA, GD&T, etc.
  • Completing documentation deliverables including design description reports, design models, drawings, and engineering analysis reports
  • Collaborating with suppliers, manufacturing, and service to design for maneuverability and serviceability
  • Supporting creation of test protocols and reports for verification and validation testing
  • Analyzing design and experimental data to understand technical issues and set a direction for issue resolution
  • Communicating project technical status, time and schedule for tasks including estimates to complete
  • Managing time budgets for tasks, identifying and resolving technical problems and issues efficiently
What you'll bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mechanical preferred or equivalent
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in new product development, preferably with experience in medical devices and familiarity with IEC 60601-1
  • Direct experience with the product development process, from requirements development to product release
  • Experience in medical device or other regulated industries preferred
