Director of Financial Planning & Analysis - Consumer

At Realtor.com®, our goal is to develop and maintain a highly functioning team of Business Unit and Functional financial experts who provide rigorous financial advice, contextualized by our company strategies, to all corners of our company. Beyond reporting and number aggregation, FP&A team members deep-dive into model building and value-driving analytics, craft the story that is embedded in the numbers, and be the financial advisor for our business partners. You will have the opportunity to develop your qualitative and quantitative skill sets and will be given corresponding responsibilities as you grow.

The Director of FP&A - Consumer will be responsible for the users or consumer side of the business, deep-diving into the metrics that drive our consumer funnels, including Unique Users, Lead volume, and Lead Conversion, and all translations of data that feed each revenue line. Corresponding project plans, roadmaps, ROI/ROAS determinations, expenses, and other supporting FP&A activities required for the Marketing and Product departments specifically, which are directly related to the Consumer funnel.

If you'd like to have a hand in developing FP&A's journey at Realtor.com®, we look forward to hearing from you.

We balance accelerated creativity and innovation on a foundation of in-person collaboration and flexibility, from inside and outside of our office walls. For most roles, our employees work three days of their choice in our Austin office and the remaining two days from home.

What you'll do:

You know what it means to be agile and understand the importance of flexibility in your approach. You enjoy helping your business partners find the optimal solution and can apply your highly tuned decision-making skills to assess and make the right tradeoffs. You are intellectually curious, take pride in being detail-oriented while understanding the big picture, and have strong financial modeling and planning experience. You will be part of the greater Finance department and will have the opportunity to grow and develop the FP&A team, and you will develop cross-functional relationships with executive staff across all functions of the organization.
  • Be a thought leader and support our Consumer business leaders, with the insights to operate and grow the business, to ultimately improve top-line and overall margin.
  • Provide guidance based on fundamentals of FP&A, coupled with insight and direction from business partners, and effectively share needle-moving discoveries to the Executive team.
  • Drive finance discipline and rigor, fact-based decision-making, and financial visibility across the company.
  • Act as the FP&A Subject Matter Expert on complex data and models and drive insights. Conceptualize, develop, and guide the Consumer metrics model building for our Core company-wide initiatives, based on sound business logic, deep metric exploration, and insights driven by analytics.
  • Lead the process to accurately forecast results and ensure that the company has the appropriate tools to support higher value-added decision-making.
  • Drive effective communication and alignment with your business partners, internally within Finance, our business partners including the Data Science & Analytics, Marketing, and Product teams, our C-suite/Executives, and periodically with NewsCorp, our parent company.
  • Develop and drive the Close, Forecast, and Budget/Plan, and identify risks and opportunities for regular deliverables.
  • Develop and gain buy in for financial decisions, key performance indicators, and recommendations based on a deep understanding and synthesis of data.
  • Propose action items on findings such as additional analyses to perform, reports we can create or other ways to improve business performance and decision-making.
What you'll bring

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field. A Master's Degree in Business Administration is a plus.
