We're currently looking for a Seat Project Engineer to join our team in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

This role will be responsible for seat design for one or more vehicle models. Role also includes managing changes such as appearance and fabric updates, feature additions, quality improvements and cost reductions.

Job functions include but are not limited to:
  • Consolidate and communicate of all Nissan requirements to tier 1 supplier
  • Establish test plans with tier 1 suppliers and review/approve test reports upon test completion
  • Partner with suppliers to identify root causes and countermeasures for design/quality issues
  • Collaborate with marketability and manufacturing teams on new model and running change development
  • Facilitate budget and supplier quotation process with Purchasing and suppliers
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline; Mechanical engineering preferred
  • 2 years or more of professional-level engineering experience; automotive seating preferred
  • Proficiency with DFMEA, DRBFM/Quick DR [design review] processes
  • Ability to communicate effectively, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to lead and influence others
  • Willingness to travel (up to 20% of worktime)
