Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide therapeutic treatment services to individuals, groups, families, and significant others.
  • Offer crisis intervention services and conduct daily safety assessments.
  • Engage with patients and their families with respect and dignity.
  • Participate in psychoeducational support sessions with patients and their families.
  • Deliver case management and therapeutic interventions to all assigned patients.
  • Advocate for patients following the System's policy and procedure when a grievance is present.
  • Maintain contact with referring providers, schools, and the care team for patients.
  • Implement and document progress according to the treatment plan.

Complete discharge documentation as required and on time

  • Document initial discharge plan and summary in the medical record.
  • Coordinate aftercare with outpatient providers, schools, and other stakeholders.
  • Report and document suspected cases of abuse or neglect according to state laws and System policy.

Provide for patient safety and the safety of the facility

  • Intervene appropriately to maintain patient safety.
  • Communicate any patient safety concerns to the treatment team and document accordingly.
  • Report safety hazards promptly to the appropriate manager and adhere to all safety guidelines.
  • Follow emergency protocols.

Education/Training Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited school.
  • In-training licensure, applicable certifications, and knowledge of therapeutic intervention and techniques across all age groups.
  • American Red Cross Professional Rescue and formal training in managing aggressive patients are required.
  • Attend all mandatory in-services and educational requirements.
