Journeyman Shipfitter (local to san diego) Job Responsibilities: 5+ years of Marine Shipfitter experience Torch Burning/Scarfing Carbon and Stainless Steel experience Blueprint reading Assembling, cutting, and grinding metal structural parts such as plates, bulkheads, strong backs, turnbuckles, and come-alongs. Align parts in relation to each other, tack and weld foundation and structural members, and perform layout work according to blueprints or reference lines. Marking the location of holes to be drilled, driving wedges, and installing temporary fasteners to hold parts in place for welding.
