Responsibilities include aiding patients in the goal of healing, recovering, improving pain level/tolerance, and maximizing functional independence. Additionally, the specialist will be expected to examine patients, implement treatment plans, and execute plans of care on a daily basis.

Requirements include a Bachelor's or Master's Degree or a Doctorate degree, a valid Physical Therapist license in the state of practice, completed state-regulated CEU requirements, and a valid CPR license. Excellent oral and written communication, strong clinical decision-making skills, and basic computer skills are also necessary. The specialist will work as a team member and individually with minimal supervision while maintaining a positive, professional demeanor at all times.

Responsibilities for the Physical Therapy Specialist include collecting and recording patient care data, preparing for evaluations, establishing treatment plans, providing education and training to patients and their support systems, and overseeing support staff. Additionally, the specialist will provide interventions to patients that are safe, effective, and compliant. The specialist will also promote the organization in the community through lectures and presentations.
