EOE Responsibilities of the School Social Worker include: Providing psycho-educational and social-emotional services to students and families of students enrolled in KTS Student counseling - both group and individual Providing parent support groups, family system assessments and parent conferences Attending interdisciplinary team meetings, integration into the classrooms, liaison with community agencies and providing play therapy Appropriate clinical record keeping to ensure that school standards for clinical accountability/quality programming are upheld Requirements for the School Social Worker: A master's degree in social work An active license as an LCSW or LMSW in the state of Maryland or qualify at time of hire for licensure by endorsement (actively licensed in another state) Experience with educational agencies and interdisciplinary teams is preferred Clinical experience in school social work and/or play therapy Experience with early childhood, developmental and behavioral approaches required Effective oral and written communication skills Interpersonal skills that bring about effective communication and positive interactions with students Knowledge base regarding LD and ASD school populations
