What will your role be?

The IT Governance Project Manager will be responsible for supporting the implementation and adoption of a portfolio management tool. The project manager will work with project managers and SMEs to ensure that the portfolio management data is accurate and updated according to established schedules and assist with project management quality processes.

The IT Governance and Quality Project Manager will be working in a hybrid Waterfall / SAFe environment and is expected to be proficient in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

This is a hybrid environment with a 3 days on-site requirement. Candidates must be able to commute to Herndon, VA 3 days per week.

Activities:

  • Responsible for the administration and configuration of the project portfolio management tool.
  • Responsible for configuring and implementing resource and capacity management in the IT department.
  • Work with projects managers and SMEs to ensure that project data supporting portfolio management is captured, updated according to schedule and accurate
  • Performs quality checks and audits of the project management data.
  • Work with project managers to address and resolve issues.
  • Support the requirements gathering, design, build and delivery of new capabilities, including reports and dashboards. Document process flows and other change management deliverables.
  • Assist in the creation of portfolio dashboards.
  • Develop and manage project schedules for Governance projects. Document and track status of action items, issues and risks.
  • Establish and maintain quality management processes for IT systems and services.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall IT performance and efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to convey Governance and quality-related updates.
  • Provide leadership in promoting a culture of quality and compliance within the IT department.
  • Provide technical guidance for automating project, program, product, and portfolio management processes.

What skills and qualifications are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
  • PMP or SAFe certification desired
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Google Suite.
  • Extensive knowledge of Portfolio Management or ERM tool.
  • Proven ability to work in a virtual team environment.
  • Experience working in an SAFe Agile environment as well as waterfall.
  • Ability to build and manage relationships across an enterprise.
  • High attention to detail and desire to deliver quality work.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to commute to office in Herndon, VA 3 days per week.
