SUMMARY

Receiving Clerk to be responsible for all functions and paperwork relating to receiving, inspecting, and recording all merchandise entering the warehouse. Must verify actual product against packing slips and confirm product integrity, through effective and proper procedures. The responsibilities associated with this position are not limited to the duties described and may be modified from time to time. The work schedule will sometimes vary and include approximately 1-2 weekends per month. Candidates must be within reasonable commuting distance of the Mumu Warehouse in Commerce, CA. This role's schedule is in-person and works in an warehouse 5 days per week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Accurately and promptly receives merchandise entering the building from vendors, customers, or other warehouses
  • Verify quantity and description of merchandise received against the packing list
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Prepare a Receiving report of any discrepancies of shortages and/or damaged merchandise
  • Accurately place merchandise on shelves, in racks or other designated storage areas in an orderly manner
  • Maintain the cleanliness of receiving area including loading dock and trash areas
  • Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned, but not limited to loading, unloading, sorting, packing and returns.
  • Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers
  • Complying with OSHA and other safety regulations.
  • Pays attention to multiple details and multiple tasks while minimizing errors
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to hear and follow instructions from supervisor and/or department lead.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with diverse range of people.
  • Proficient with using tools required for this position.
  • Physically agile and dexterous.
  • Proficient organizational skills.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to stand and walk for duration of shift
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, preferred.
  • 1-2 years' work experience in a similar role.
  • Intermediate Proficiency with PC, email usage and Google Suite preferred
  • Flexibility with regards to job responsibilities
  • Minimum 1-2 years of administrative/warehouse/fashion/retail work experience, preferred
  • Able to work and think independently as well as part of a team.
  • Excellent follow-through and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask a high volume of tasks, problem solve and offer creative solutions
LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Excellent listening, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer focus and ability to work under time and task pressures.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondences, and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small group situations to other employees on the team.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
