As an Advance Local Multimedia Specialist with MLive, you will be part of a dynamic and inclusive newsroom team focused on local journalism for one of the countrys largest privately owned media companies. What youll do Produce and edit photo galleries, videos from a wide range of assignments including news, features and sports Produce social videos including Facebook Live and longer form videos from assignments. Conceive of and pitch ideas for longer term photo-driven projects. Coach and mentor multimedia interns to their full potential Build audience and subscribers for your generated content Report and write stories that accompany visual assignments Qualifications Minimum of two years of photo and video experience with a proven ability in reporting and writing. A degree in journalism, communications or a related field preferred, or equivalent education and work experience. Has a serious passion for photojournalism Is a good writer with solid news judgment Has demonstrable video recording and editing experience Has a background in journalism Is comfortable using all social platforms including but not limited to YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok Is incredibly organized and can manage multiple projects at once Is comfortable working with multiple reporters, sports reporters and other journalists Can hit deadlines and keep production on schedule Is comfortable working solo on projects Has an advanced understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite and Photo Mechanic. Is comfortable finding sources, contacting them and traveling to them Can be counted on as the in-house expert for photo and video for brainstorming with colleagues on story ideas. Has knowledge of the Michigan media environment and online news Is a licensed drone pilot or has the willingness to become one. This job requires reliable transportation to meet with sources or cover events.
