We are currently looking to fill a Material Handler position within our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that parts are prepared and packaged for safe transport to outside processing vendors, and upon return, that those parts are carefully unloaded and transferred to the appropriate internal areas for storage or further processing.

The essential duties of the position include:

  • Review production orders; locate and pull all necessary parts, materials and supplies to fulfill the production order
  • Visually inspect parts, materials, and supplies, confirms counts against work order, and promptly notify manager of any quality issues or count discrepancies
  • Prepare and package parts and materials for shipping to outside processing vendors
  • Load and unload trucks by operating a forklift, pallet jack, or other similar equipment
  • Document all parts and materials being sent to outside processing vendors, and advise appropriate internal parties when those parts and materials have been picked up
  • Regularly inspect material handling tools and equipment; promptly notify manager of any issues that require attention
  • Ensure the cleanliness, safety, and organization of the material handling area
  • Other duties as assigned

This is a full-time, onsite position in Cerritos, California. Hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Starting pay is $18 per hour.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, and desire to be a part of an award-winning team. Additionally, in order to be considered for the position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Minimum six months' material handling experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Read, write, and speak fluent English; bilingual English/Spanish helpful, but not required
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize work according to production schedules and vendor lead times
  • Experience working with an ERP system preferred, but not required
  • Able to successfully complete forklift training and pass certification test (Olea provides training and testing)
  • Self-disciplined and able to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • Able to think proactively
  • Reliable transportation
