Job Duties and Responsibilities

As we continue to build out our 5G network and navigate the changing landscape in television, we are looking to invest in growing our consumer direct/omnichannel capabilities. This individual will be a key contributor in building and enhancing this capability.

As a Product Designer II you will play a large role in shaping the user experience of our digital products and experiences. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, UX Researchers, and cross-functional teams to understand user needs, ideate innovative solutions, and create visually appealing designs. Your focus on user-centric design, combined with your expertise in design strategy, will contribute to the overall success of our products.

As a member of Digital Product & UX, you will be part of a team that employs a squad-like model, leveraging agile and lean methodologies to accelerate the development of omnichannel and exceptional user experiences across our diverse portfolio of businesses.

Key partners/relationships: Business leaders (Retail Wireless, Enterprise Wireless, DISH TV, Sling, etc.), Product Management, Experience Design, IT, Digital Marketing, MarTech, and Operations leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and utilize user research and leverage insights from Marketing, Voice of Customer, and Customer Insights teams to inform your design decisions
  • Advocate for users throughout the design process
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to align design strategies with business goals and user needs
  • Translate high-level goals into actionable design plans

Skills, Experience and Requirements

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in Design or Visual Communication, User Experience Design, Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered
  •  2+ years of experience in product design roles, with a demonstrated track record of designing successful digital products or applications

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a deep understanding of design thinking methodologies to identify user needs, define problems, and generate innovative solutions
  • Expertise in designing intuitive user interfaces (UI) and interactions across various digital platforms, including web, mobile, and software applications
  • Strong understanding of visual design principles, typography, color theory, and layout to create visually appealing and cohesive designs that align with brand guidelines
  • Proficiency in prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or InVision to create interactive prototypes and wireframes for user testing and stakeholder feedback
  • Experience planning, conducting, and analyzing usability tests to gather user feedback, validate design decisions, and iterate on designs
  • Knowledge of design systems and component libraries to maintain consistency and scalability across products and collaborate effectively with development teams
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work closely with product managers, engineers, marketers, and other stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to plan and execute research projects efficiently, managing timelines, resources, and priorities effectively
  • Agility in navigating complex design challenges, adapting to changing requirements, and finding creative solutions to meet user and business needs
  • A strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design projects, including case studies that highlight your design process, problem-solving approach, and impact on user experiences
  • Mastery of design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, or similar software tools used for prototyping, wireframing, and visual design
  • Proven experience in collaborating with stakeholders including product managers, UX researchers, engineers, marketers, and others to effectively align business objectives and user requirements with innovative design solutions
  • Exceptional communication abilities, adept at articulating design concepts and rationale
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and experience working in agile teams, iterating on designs in response to user feedback and sprint cycles
  • A basic understanding of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SAAS) and their implications on design decisions is beneficial for effective collaboration with development teams
  • Experience collaborating with development teams to ensure the successful implementation of design solutions; provide assets, specifications, and guidance during the development phase
  • A commitment to staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and design best practices through continuous learning, attending workshops, conferences, and engaging with design communities
Salary Ranges

Compensation: $72,350.00/Year - $103,400.00/Year

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
