Responsibilities: • Receives and reviews requests for diagnostic and interventional procedures performed in the Cardiac Cath and Special Procedure Department. • Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements. • Explains and prepares the patient for all cardiac and/or interventional radiology procedures. • Prepares procedural table and/or room per Cardiac cath and interventional procedures as indicated by protocol. • Possesses and utilizes proper aseptic technique and isolation procedures when appropriate • Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and effects of disease processes to properly and safely position the patient for maximum diagnosis. • Operates highly complex equipment within the cardiac cath and interventional department, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality radiographs using the A.LA.R.A. standards. • Documents exams, transmits images, and charges accurately. • Demonstrates the ability to cope with and manage change. • Maintains equipment and rooms in proper working condition. Reports malfunctions and necessary repairs to Manager and/or appropriate personnel. • Performs various clerical duties. • Checks stock inventory and initiates orders. • Must be available for on-call status, as needed, after normal operating hours (include weekdays, weekends and, holidays required arrival time for STEMI in 30 min.)
