Working under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and working closely with the Director Finance, the Controller will carry out the YWCA Princeton's (YW-P) mission with a strong focus on the monthly closing process, the annual budget, and the annual audit.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform the monthly close and provide financial reports to support the tracking of the budget vs actual and the prior year, and financial analysis.
  • Support the Finance Office Manager with monthly processes such as A/R, A/P, payroll, expense reimbursement and other duties as assigned.
  • Support and strengthen the overall control environment for the YW-P.
  • Lead and manage the annual budget process.
  • Support the annual audit and interact with the auditors.
  • Support the Capital Campaign Committee to manage their budget, including accounting for the capital campaign revenue and expenses, and the creation of reports regarding those expenses.
  • Work with the Facilities Committee regarding on-going facility issues and projects, including Reimagining Bramwell.
  • Furnish the Facilities Committee with updated financial reports regarding facility projects and contracts.
  • Complete the general ledger account reconciliations and resolve items on a timely basis.
  • Assist with the creation of financial reports for the Joint Trustees (JT) Quarterly Meetings.
  • Support all program departments (Childcare, the Breast Cancer Resource Center (BCRC), ESL and Advocacy) by providing ad hoc finance reports as needed.
  • Prepare Board Committee finance reports as needed.
  • Assist the Chief Development Officer and the Development Team with monthly, quarterly and annual reports as needed, as well as creation of program budgets for grant applications, etc.
Skills, Requirements, and Leadership Behaviors
  • A Bachelor Degree in Accounting.
  • 3 years of experience in non-profit accounting or similar accounting experience.
  • Demonstrates the Core YWCA Princeton values: caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and inclusiveness.
  • Has the ability to work across functions and communicates effectively outside of finance.
  • Holds themselves, and their team, accountable.
