What part would you play in this role?

As a Medical Case Specialist, you will work closely with veterans and the Veterans Administration to gather, collect, record, track and verify data and information from multiple sources. You will use software for functional area to schedule appointments and document in the case management systems while ensuring customer service at all customer touch points.

In this rewarding role, you will also:

  • Answer phones from automated call distribution system.
  • Obtain medical history for specific condition.
  • Determine appropriate examinations, tests and specialists required for each case.
  • Schedule appointments for examinees including follow-up appointments and rescheduled appointments.

You must have:

  • High School diploma, or equivalent (GED) 
  • Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
  • Knowledge of Medical scheduling
  • Intermediate to advanced computer software skills

Preferred to have:

  • Experience within medical coding and documentation.
  • Knowledge of military medical examinations
  • Vocational training in the medical field, i.e. MA, Certified Medical Coder, or Certified Nursing Asst.

Typical Day:

  • Training:  Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (CST)
  • Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm (CST)
  • Positions are located ONSITE at 4400 N.W. Loop 410, Suite 500, San Antonio, TX 78229
    • Employment as a Medical Case Specialist I will include successful completion of a 90-day probationary period during which you will be given objectives to achieve. This timeframe lets you assess your readiness for the position as well as allows Leidos QTC Heath Services to determine your ability to successfully perform the job. You will be provided objectives, documentation, training and performance feedback during the 90-day probationary period as part of your assimilation to the role. After successfully completing the 90-day probationary period, you will be considered a permanent employee.

Pay and Benefits:

Starting pay: $ 17.20 per hour with an additional 3% increase after 90 days and another 3% increase after completion of training.
