JOB SUMMARY

In addition to the evaluation and/or treatment of patients within their current scope of practice and license, the Specialist Program Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of therapists and technicians as assigned to their program. The Specialist Program Coordinator is responsible for carrying out clinical, operational administration and marketing duties as assigned by the Clinical Director of Therapy Services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech and Language Pathology program.
  • Possess a current BLS certification.
  • A current state Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech and Language Pathology licensure is required.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner with patients, family members, staff and physicians.
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications which include Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE

Clinical Environment

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily patient therapeutic treatment within their current scope of practice and license.
  • Participate in treatment plan review and ongoing patient care reassessments.
  • Accurately document patient care to ensure timely and correct billing.
  • To direct and assist other clinical staff as delegated by the Clinical Director of Therapy Services.
  • Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with patients, family members, hospital system staff and physicians.
  • Provide necessary educational services and participate in assigned facility in-service activities.
  • Work to ensure a safe and clean working and clinical environment
  • Monitor the upkeep of equipment and availability of supplies required for therapy operations.
  • Analyze, correlate and report metric data for specialist program therapy services as assigned by the Clinical Director of Therapy Services.
  • Participate in program planning meetings appropriate to their specialty.
  • Participate in service line meetings with physicians and other clinical staff.
  • Assist the Clinic Managers and Clinical Director of Therapy Services with interview and selection of therapy staff.
  • Provide in-services to clinic staff as delegated by Clinical Director of Therapy Services
  • Participate in the orientation and onboarding of new clinical staff as delegated by the Clinical Director of Therapy Services.
  • Assist the Clinical Director of Therapy Services in analyzing monthly financial and management reports.
  • Actively participate in the marketing of programs and services available at all clinics within the department.
  • Assist the Clinical Director of Therapy Services with development of new programs and services.
  • Assume other responsibilities that may be assigned by the Clinical Director of Therapy Services.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the clinic manager.
