JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary
Department: Speech Therapist
Shift timings: 08:00-16:00 Monday to Friday (5 Days/8 Hours)
Per Week: 40 Hours
Would like if they have Home Care Home Base experience but not required.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Educate patients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic events
- Keep detailed records relating to patient conditions, care plans, therapies and progress
- Report progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers or medical professionals
- Attend individualized education program (IEP) meetings for students
- Consult with teachers, parents or medical providers as necessary
- Provide rehab assistance to help patients meet their goals
- BLS and ACLS
- National Institutes of Health (NIH)
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strong technical skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Passionate about patient care
- Requires a minimum of two years of current Speech Language Pathologist experience.
- Graduate from a fully accredited Speech Language Pathologist Master's Degree program
- Active unencumbered and Speech Language Pathologist Iowa state license
- One year of Cerner experience
