Our team values a work-life balance. Schedule is primarily 4 10's, and dayshift. There will be an every 3 rd weekend responsibility.
In this role, the APC will primarily coordinate and manage the outpatient cardiac surgery service in conjunction with attending surgeons. This is a hybrid role with primarily outpatient, but inpatient responsibilities as well.
Responsibilities (as approved by the Medical Staff Board ):
- Primarily responsible for coordination and management of Cardiac Surgery Clinic - care related to outpatients, pre and postoperative heart surgery
- Responsible for inpatient care related to pre and postoperative heart surgery patients in the CCU and Telemetry unit as defined by surgical attending.
- Perform and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic bedside procedures
- Assure clear and concise transfer of clinical information between nurses, clinical staff and physicians
- Assist in data collecting of information related to any research trials within the department of Cardiothoracic
- Maintaining communication with other clinical service
- Physical Requirements: Walking, standing
- Visual Requirements: Ability to read medical charts
- Hearing Requirements: Ability to hear normal conversations
- Working Conditions: Routine activities involved in patient clinical care
- NCCPA certification or National Certification as Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Required
- 1 - 2 years' experience required, preferably in CCU/Cardiac Surgery setting
- Pennsylvania State license for physician assistant or CRNP
Conditions of Employment
