Working/Functional Title Physical Security Systems Analyst Position Summary Unified Security System Integration: · Program and configure access control systems, alarm systems, and surveillance systems. · Integrate various physical security technologies to work cohesively. · Integrate physical security systems with broader network infrastructure. Access Control Programming: · Develop and implement access control policies and configurations. · Customize access levels, permissions, and user authentication. · Ensure the secure communication of data between different security components. Surveillance System Configuration: · Configure and optimize CCTV cameras, NVRs, and video analytics software. · Ensure proper functioning of video surveillance systems. Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) Programming: · Program and fine-tune intrusion detection and alarm systems within the Genetec platform. · Set up alerts and notifications for security incidents within the Genetec platform. System Maintenance and Updates: · Conduct routine maintenance and updates of access control and surveillance systems. · Ensure that software and firmware are up to date. Skills and Qualifications: Programming: · Proficiency in programming relevant to access control and video surveillance systems (e.g. Genetec, Axis, Hanwha). · Scripting skills for automation tasks. * Security Protocols: * · Knowledge of security protocols and standards (e.g., HTTPS, SSL/TLS). · Understanding of encryption and authentication mechanisms. Security Technology Knowledge: · In-depth understanding of access control systems, surveillance systems, and intrusion detection systems. · Familiarity with biometric technologies and other advanced security measures. · Working Knowledge of (Genetec Systems) Preferred. * Networking Skills: * · Strong understanding of networking principles and protocols. · Ability to troubleshoot network-related issues. · Working Knowledge of (Juniper Networks) Preferred. · Working Knowledge of (Active Directory) Preferred. · Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices. · Understanding of potential threats to physical security systems. Problem-Solving: · Analytical skills to identify and resolve issues in security programming. · Ability to design effective security solutions. * Communication Skills: * · Effective communication with cross-functional teams, including security, IT, and management. · Documentation skills for recording configurations and procedures. This position involves both programming skills and expertise in physical security systems, it's essential to have a strong foundation in both areas to ensure the effective integration and operation of security technologies. Minimum Requirements Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Computer Science, Programming or Information Systems; three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in programming, computer systems development, design and analysis and supervision; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
