Description

Duties and Responsibilities

A typical day may include:

  • Interact with suppliers regarding scrap reduction initiatives, on-time delivery performance, PPAP submissions, etc.
  • Help create and implement a training program for new employees regarding basic engineering print training and proficiency using quality related tools such as calipers, micrometers, and various gauges used in the manufacturing plant.
  • Maintain and control calibration records for all test equipment
  • Work with the manufacturing engineering team to review, revise, and create job instructions as necessary and then review and train applicable employees on the job instruction after completion
  • Work closely with department supervisors to resolve day-to-day quality issues on the production floor as they arise
  • Willing to learn how to program and operate a CMM
  • Interact with manufacturing and design team to launch new products for production
  • Support all other departments as necessary
  • Other duties may be assigned
  • Lead QA initiatives in Production
  • Lead customer corrective action process
  • Develop and maintain necessary QA documentation
Qualifications

We are searching for a candidate with:
  • A BS or AS in a technical or engineering field or equivalent experience preferred
  • Familiarity with typical machine shop manufacturing processes
  • 3+ years of in a quality engineering role
  • Familiarity with the APQP process including DFMEA, PFMEA, Controls Plans, etc. Familiarity with root cause analysis techniques
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001and its' implementation
  • Green Belt certification is a plus
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Familiarity with quality tools such as capability studies, control charts, cause and effect diagrams, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and understand technical reports and specifications dealing with product design requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Flexibility to work overtime as necessary
